CeMAS Report:
Militant Accelerationism
Origins and activity in Germany

In its third report, CeMAS, a think tank which is supported by us, has published a summary and reference work for the offline and online activities of militant far-right accelerationists in Germany.

After an introduction to the origins and history of international far-right accelerationism, the report offers an overview of the scene and its groups in Germany.

What is militant accelerationism?

Right-wing extremist militant accelerationism strives to bring about the collapse of liberal, democratic and capitalist societies. To this end, existing contradictions or perceived processes of decay in these societies are to be accelerated. This can be done both through attempts to manipulate public discourse and through terrorist means. Militant accelerationism is an internationally observable phenomenon and in Germany, too, there are groups and individuals who can be assigned to this right-wing terrorist scene.

The digital space as a platform for radicalisation

After looking closely at the scene of militant far-right accelerationists, certain trends become clear in the CeMAS report: including that increasingly underage perpetrators are being radicalised and are considering to carry out attacks, 3D-printed weapons are becoming more widespread and hostilities against the LGBTIQ+ community have become more prominent. Moreover, it is not only Telegram that is used to spread radical and terrorist content, but also increasingly alternative, decentralised messenger services.

The CeMAS report makes it clear that the digital space as a platform for radicalisation is still not taken seriously enough by authorities and politicians.

The entire report can be read here.

CeMAS and the "Landecker re|con project" make anti-democratic trends and developments easier to recognise at an early stage, they analyse them and derive counter-strategies and recommendations on action for civil society, politics and security authorities.
