The 2023
Landecker Community Summit

The Landecker community is a network of people from organisations that are funded by us or who are otherwise interlinked with our work.
The fundamental concept is to benefit from unusual and unconventional perspectives beyond individual areas of expertise, to challenge each other, and to look for solutions to the pressing questions of our times.

The Landecker Foundation seeks to create bonds among our diverse set of community members and to connect them on common issues and approaches.

Throughout the last years, we have convened our community multiple times online and have organised its first in-person event in May 2023.

Under the title “Brave New Web: How to turn Dystopia into Democracy”, the participants had the possibility to step out of their day-to-day work and to reflect in what way we need to transform our thinking and handle current challenges. How can we use digitalisation and the means of technology to strengthen our democracies? How can threats in this context become opportunities? What needs to happen?

Participants were not only able to bring in their individual expertise and perspectives into these discussions or acquire tangible topic-focused takeaways – the summit was a possibility to gain insights into the workings of the foundation as well as the work of other grantees in the foundation’s network.
