Drawing on lessons from the past, the Alfred Landecker Foundation is committed to strengthening democratic institutions in Germany and across Europe. At a time of profound geopolitical change and rising domestic skepticism toward institutions and political leadership, the Foundation has launched a new partnership with the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF). The initiative is designed to connect emerging leaders from Germany, Europe and the US and equip them with the skills, networks, and practical tools needed to develop stronger solutions and improve decision-making.
The workshop series FutureScape brings together leaders from across the public sector to engage with critical questions shaping Germany’s — and ultimately Europe’s — resilience and capacity to act. Across three core policy areas — defense, migration, and innovation — participants will not only explore strategic pathways forward, but also examine the administrative and bureaucratic realities that determine whether policies succeed in practice. By combining policy debate with a best-practice-exchange on implementation, FutureScape seeks to foster cross-sector collaboration and contributes to a more resilient and effective democracy.
