Mission

Strengthening historical awareness and a fact-based culture of remembrance within democratic institutions through curated visits to the historical sites of “Operation Reinhard.”

The World Jewish Congress (WJC), in cooperation with the Alfred Landecker Foundation, organizes educational visits for Senior German Parliamentary and Government Staff. The journeys lead to sites associated with Operation Reinhard - the deadliest phase of the Holocaust. The groups travel through what is now eastern Poland, visiting key locations that played a central role in the systematic murder of Jews by the Nazis between 1942 and 1943. As supporters of Germany’s highest democratic institutions, the participants bear a particular responsibility: they help ensure that democratic institutions rest on a solid foundation of historical truth - especially in a time of increasing historical distortion and rising antisemitic incidents.
