Mission

To support vocational students through a sustained six-month educational programme around antisemitism, Jewish life and democratic values — while helping teachers embed this knowledge more widely in school life.

Around one third of all students in Germany attend vocational schools. Yet cultural and political education — particularly around antisemitism and Jewish life — remains largely absent from this part of the education system. Teachers at vocational schools are often left to address these subjects without specialist support.

Through AntiAnti: Museum Goes School, the Alfred Landecker Foundation supports a long-term educational programme developed by the Jewish Museum Frankfurt. Over the course of six interconnected workshops held across a school term, students explore themes including antisemitism, racism, Jewish life and belonging through dialogue and discussion rooted in their everyday experience. Alongside this, teachers receive further training and support to strengthen their role pass this knowledge on within the school environment.

Founded in 1988, the Jewish Museum Frankfurt explores 900 years of Jewish life in the city. Through exhibitions, school programmes and teacher training, it has established itself as a leading institution for cultural and civic education in the Rhine-Main region. The educational programme AntiAnti has been running since 2017 and was updated in 2024 in response to current societal and political developments.
