Silke Muelherr is Head of External Relations and Deputy CEO of the Foundation.
She represents the Foundation’s mission to society at large. She connects with potential partners and establishes networks in the political and civic communities. With her journalistic experience, she guides and communicates the Foundation’s projects and is the contact person for all media enquiries.
Silke formerly headed the foreign news desk at WELT, one of Germany’s leading national newsgroups. Prior to that, she reported as EU and NATO correspondent from Brussels. In these various roles, she observed and documented the attacks on democratic structures and the rise of antisemitism both in Germany and Europe.
Silke is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for European Politics (Institut für Europäische Politik), a non-profit organisation dedicated to the study of European integration.
She studied political science and international law at the universities of Freiburg and Melbourne, Australia.
